By Lorenzo - 2019-11-23

Coinbase has recently announced its plan to shift towards a global approach for its current staking service. According to the twitter announcement, Coinbase is looking to create an environment where everyone from anywhere can have access to cryptocurrency features like staking.
As the industry grows, we strive to continue to be the safest, most reliable, one stop shop for all of our clients’ custodial services.

Coinbase already announced the launch of Tezos staking services back in March 2019 and already supports dozens of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum or Maker.
The Coinbase Custody is intended for institutions and offers customers a solution to store crypto assets similar to traditional custodial services. The recent announcement will also have an impact on Tezos as this means the digital asset will be available to stake to international users very soon.
There has been an increasing interest in staking of cryptocurrencies for the past year and most exchanges are launching staking services every day. Binance, for instance, has recently launched its staking platform that allows users to stake different cryptocurrencies with a maximum annual yield of 14%, currently.
